Weekend Activities

Nothing exciting has happend in the Petersen families lives lately, so I'm just gonna blog about our every day stuff! Saturday morning, Brandon woke up at 4:30am and went deer hunting. I went back to sleep, but then Carter woke up about 10 minutes after I heard Brandon leave (around 5:40am I think). He went back to sleep, but I laid there for about an hour before I decided to get up. I started the laundry and housework and Carter woke up at about 7:30am. We ate breakfast and went for a jog. I ran an extra lap around the neighborhood which means I ran 1.5 miles instead of my normal 1. It was so nice outside, it wasn't that hard, which was good. I met one of our neighbors, who was really nice. She was out walking and stopped to talk to us. I can't remember her name, but I know that she has 3 boys and her husband drives for Conway freight.

Brandon came home and took a nap while I finished cleaning and doing the laundry. I'm such a dork, but I get a sense of satisfaction when I get all of the cleaning and laundry (washed, dried, and ironed) on Saturday. LOL. By this time the, OU vs. Texas game was in full swing, so Brandon was glued to his chair watching OU win. I went to Pizza Hut and picked up some dinner. It's so annoying that they don't deliver any more since they became the "Italian Bistro." Whatever.

Sunday we got up and went to church. Poor Carter - he has been getting the teeth in beside his top two front ones and they hurt much worse than any of the others. So, he's been kinda fussy anyway lately, but he's also in that stage where he cries if we leave him with someone he doesn't know. I think he cried the whole hour while he was in the nursery. His shirt did have some cheese stains on it though, and I did find a golfish cracker in it when I changed him. So maybe it wasn't all bad. Church was very interesting though. Apparently Sunday was National "Porn" Sunday, so they showed a video of the pastor of XXX church. It's a church that specializes in getting people help if they are addicted to pornography. This guy actually goes to porn conventions and hands out bibles. He is friends with a lot of the producers and actors too. I found actually kind of cool that he has the guts to do this. He said of one of the actors "I love Ron. I don't love what he does for a living, but I love him." Isn't that how we all should be? I noticed a sign in their office that said "Jesus Loves Porn Stars." Wow - that's gotta be a shocker for some people. It's true though. It reminds me of a song I love. I don't know the name of it off the top of my head, but it talks about Jesus hanging with the Beale street crowd rather than the stainged glass window crowd. It paints a very clear picture in my head of the kind of Christian that I wish that I was. That I want to be. The kind that loves all, regardless of what they do, how they treat me, how they treat others, anything. I'm just as bad of a sinner as the rest of the world. I just have to start reminding myself of that more often.

So after church, we went to Walmart. Ok - this is where the test of the above paragraph comes into play. I love Walmart!!! Hahaha. I love the people who bring all 6 kids, aunts & uncles, grandmas & grandpas, and proceed to stand in the middle of the isle (be it grocery isle or parking lot isle)!!! Hahahaha. No, it wasn't that bad this time actually.

My mom's birthday is Tuesday and Brandon's mom's birthday is Wednesday, so we cooked a big spaghetti dinner and had everyone over. My brother, James, even brought his girlfiend, Ann over. She is soooo pretty and sooo nice. He must really like her a lot, because he has never brought a girl anywhere near family events like this before. She is a reporter on the the Channel 6 news. Carter hammed it up of course! Brandon gave him some meatballs and he proceeded to suck all of the tomato sauce off of the meat and spit the meat back out. And then we gave him some cake and ice cream. Of course, he loved it. And made a huge mess!! Oh well, he was so cute! Ok, so that's my weekend. Hope you all had a good one too! Here are some pics from this weekend. Carter was carrying Brandon's socks around, so we put them on him. :D

He also loves Satan--obviously not how Satan chose to be, but He still loves him--its totally crazy and seemingly impossible. Especially when I run into that extended family of 12 at wal mart when I'm in a hurry! : )

Well done on the run too! Do you ahve one of those 'sport jogger' strollers or can you just push carter in the regular kind?
